Federal Level
- NASCSP, Energy OutWest, NCAF, and the Community Action Partnership hosted a Weatherization Expo in late June 2017 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the WAP. The event was sponsored by Congressman Kevin Cramer (R-ND). The event had about 50 attendees from the Congressional staff and the energy efficiency community. Three other members of Congress attended: Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY), Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-IA), and Congressman Ryan Costello (R-PA). Community Housing Partners of Christianburg, Virginia coordinated demonstrations of WAP technology.
State Level
- Alabama
-The Community Action Partnership of North Alabama held a weatherization demonstration at a local home currently undergoing weatherization services. The event was featured in the Decatur Daily News
- Arkansas
-The State WAP Office, the Arkansas Community Action Association, and several local agencies partnered to host a Weatherization Day Celebration. -Governor Asa Hutchinson also issued an official proclamation of Weatherization Day.
- Connecticut
-The Director of Energy Services for Community Renewal Team, a local WAP agency, appeared on a morning news feature about weatherization.
- Colorado
-The Colorado WAP was highlighted in an ABC 7 Denver news feature.
-Governor John Hickenlooper also issued a Weatherization Day Proclamation.
- District of Columbia (DC)
-The Mayor of Washington DC issued a Weatherization Day Proclamation.
- Delaware
-The State of Delaware promoted its WAP with a social media campaign for Weatherization Day.
- Georgia
-The weatherization director for Coastal Plain Area EOA, Inc. wrote an Op-Ed entitled “Energy Efficiency is Good for South Georgia” which was featured in the Valdosta Daily Times.
- Iowa
-The Iowa Community Action Association lead a social media campaign for Weatherization Day
- Illinois
-Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Inc. (CEDA) held a Weatherization Day event highlighting their program.
- Kansas
-Governor Sam Brownback signed a Weatherization Day Proclamation and the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation engaged in social media activity for Weatherization Day.
- Kentucky
-LKLP Community Action’s WAP program was featured on by WYMT News.
- Michigan
-Governor Rick Snyder issued a Weatherization Day Procalamation.
-The State of Michigan also issued a press release.
-Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency’s WAP program was featured in a local news broadcast.
-Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency and their WAP were featured in the Herald Palladium.
-The Michigan WAP was also featured in The Times Herald.
- Minnesota
-Prairie Five Community Action’s WAP was highlighted in a local news feature. The State WAP Program also executed a social media campaign.
- Missouri
-Governor Eric Greitens signed a proclamation of Weatherization Day.
-The Missouri Energy Office and the Missouri Community Action Network (MCAN) hosted a Weatherization breakfast panel event.
-Economic Security Corporation’s WAP was featured on local news and held a weatherization demonstration. Local WAP agencies OACAC and NECAC also held weatherization demonstrations.
- Nebraska
-The Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership held a Weatherization Day celebration.
- North Carolina
-Cabarrus County issued a proclamation of Weatherization Day
- North Dakota
-Governor Doug Burgum issued a Weatherization Day proclamation.
-The Community Action Partnership of North Dakota ran a social media campaign.
- New York
-Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a proclamation of Weatherization Day. The State also announced a large Senior Multifamily weatherization project on Weatherization Day. JCEO of Clinton and Franklin Counties held a Weatherization Day celebration.
-Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County Inc. wrote an op-ed and Niagara Community Action Program, Inc. was also featured in local news.
-The Commission on Economic Opportunity produced a client video
- Ohio
-Governor John Kasich issued a proclamation of Weatherization Day.
-The Mayor of Dayton, Ohio also issued a proclamation. CAP Dayton held a block party celebration for Weatherization Day.
-WSOS held a WAP site demonstration that was attended by U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur. COAD held a WAP site demonstration attended by State Representative Larry Householder.
- Oklahoma
-Great Plains Community Action’s WAP was featured in a local newspaper. United CAP was also featured in local news.
- Pennsylvania
-The State WAP office executed a social media campaign for Weatherization Day.
-ECA in Philadelphia also had a Weatherization Workshop with State Senator Anthony Williams.
- South Carolina
-Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council, Inc. held a Weatherization Day event.
- Utah
The Utah WAP was highlighted in an Op-Ed
- Virginia
-Governor Terry McCauliffe signed a proclamation of Weatherization Day.
- Washington
-Governor Jay Inslee signed a proclamation of Weatherization Day. The State Department of Commerce also executed a social media campaign.
- Wisconsin
-Local WAP agencies HOPE Inc., Milwaukee County, Project HOME, and RKCAA were all featured in local news.
