Weatherization Day 2026: Celebrating 50 Years of WAP

Each October, communities across the country recognize Energy Action Month (EAM), a time to highlight energy efficiency and programs that help households reduce energy costs. As part of this month of recognition, communities also mark October 30 as National Weatherization Day.

In 2026, NASCSP is proud to celebrate 50 years of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and its impact on households, communities, jobs, small businesses, and energy savings nationwide.

Celebrating 50 years of Weatherization and Weatherization Day Planning Webinar Resources

NASCSP and weatherization partners hosted a collaborative planning webinar on recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Weatherization Assistance Program. This webinar provided an opportunity to share ideas, coordinate outreach efforts, and highlight the impact weatherization has had on households and communities over the past five decades.

Telling the Weatherization Story
