Weatherization House Briefing Thursday!

Alice Gaston — Program Assistant, Weatherization Services–

You’re invited to make history!

Every once in a while a rare opportunity comes along to participate in an historic moment: this is one of those moments. The future of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is in danger of steep funding cuts. While austerity is a priority for federal spending, WAP will disappear without adequate funding, leaving millions of vulnerable families trapped in inefficient and unhealthy housing.

Join NASCSP and sponsors Representative Paul Tonko (D-NY) and Representative David McKinley (R-WV) on Thursday, June 20th at 2 p.m. for a House Briefing on how WAP can turn things around for struggling households and businesses alike.

Where?
Room 2456 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. A map of the Capitol can be found here.

Can’t join us in person? Follow all the action on Facebook and Twitter (#wapbriefing) on June 20th.

What?
This bipartisan briefing will highlight the impact WAP has on small businesses, technological development, and manufacturing.

“Weatherization Works”
WAP not only reduces spending by saving energy, but it creates jobs and supports advances in energy efficiency.
