HEP Offerings: Quality Control Inspector, Energy Auditor, Retrofit Installer, Crew Leader
Summary:
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) sub-grantees and training centers face unprecedented production targets and need for increased weatherization services in multifamily buildings. In the years ahead, weatherization training centers (WTCs) will be challenged to continue to deliver high-quality, performance-driven training, addressing multifamily housing stock. It is important that the training incorporates maximal interactivity and cutting-edge technology to accelerate learning. This will help reach an expanding learner base while containing costs and minimizing the time weatherization professionals spend away from work to attend training. This project will specify and implement a standardized distance-learning (DL) platform that will connect weatherization providers and training centers to a content-rich, immersive learning environment. Association for Energy Affordability (AEA) plans to offer significantly increased training opportunities to weatherization staff, yield a results-driven training program with maximum return on investment, reduce the travel and carbon footprint of weatherization workers, and provide a vehicle for further standardization of weatherization curricula.
