On March 28, 2012, Advocates for The Other America (AFTOA), together with the Northeast-Midwest House and Senate Coalitions, conducted a briefing on the Weatherization Assistance Program for House and Senate staff. The briefing was co-sponsored by NASEO, and information was presented on both the WAP and SEP programs. Arley Johnson, the Executive Director of AFTOA, moderated the session, and introduced Annette Odren from The Energy Conservatory in Minneapolis, MN (a WAP supply chain vendor); Mark Jackson from the New River Center for Energy Research and Training (a WAP Training Center in Christiansburg, VA); and Fred Hoover from the Maryland Energy Administration. Arley also introduced a new video entitled, “The Faces of Weatherization.” The briefing was in support of NASCSP “ask” of $210M for the Weatherization Assistance Program in FY 2013.”
