The State of Maryland is hiring an Energy Administrative Assistant to support its Housing and Building Energy Programs. This contractual position will provide administrative and customer service support for energy programs, including the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). Responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries, providing status updates, processing documentation, addressing client concerns, and escalating issues as needed. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of administrative, clerical, clerical-technical, or secretarial experience. College education may substitute for required experience. Experience working directly with customers or with government programs serving low- to moderate-income individuals and families is preferred. The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) is hiring a WAP Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Weatherization Assistance Program and related State Energy Program grants. This Atlanta-based position manages program administration, budgets, contracts, grant applications, reporting, compliance, and technical assistance. The Program Manager will also work closely with 14 service providers across Georgia, monitor program performance, review invoices and financial reports, and coordinate with contractors, state agencies, funders, and other partners.
Candidates should have a four-year college degree and at least two years of experience managing administrative or program support activities in a business or government setting. Related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. A degree in environmental studies, economics, business, or a related field and at least three years of relevant experience are preferred. The salary range is $72,000–$76,000. GEFA may hire at the Program Manager 3 level, with a salary range of $93,000–$97,000, based on the selected candidate’s qualifications. The position will remain open until filled.
