FY 2019 Senate Labor HHS Appropriations Bill
(June 28, 2018, Washington D.C.)- Today the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee is marking up its FY 2019 Labor-HHS bill at 10:30am ET. The proceedings can be viewed here.
According to the Minority Committee press release, the Senate bill funds CSBG at $725 million, a $10 million increase from FY 2018. The bill also funds LIHEAP for FY 2019 at $3.69 billion - this is an increase of about $50 million over FY 2018.
As we noted in our past update, the House released its FY 2019 bill earlier this month, which funded CSBG at $749 million, a robust increase of $35 million over FY 2018. The House bill maintained LIHEAP flat at FY 2018 levels. NASCSP submitted testimony to both the House and Senate Appropriations committees in May asking for an FY 2019 funding level of $750 million for CSBG.
NASCSP will keep you updated as the appropriations process continues.
