FY 2019 House Labor-HHS Bill Released

The House Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee has released its draft bill recommending FY 2019 funding for CSBG and LIHEAP. NASCSP submitted testimony to the House Appropriations committee in April asking for an FY 2019 funding level of $750 million for CSBG.

In the House draft released today, CSBG is funded at $749,650,000. This increase of nearly $35 million is great sign of support for the program and a result of the advocacy efforts of the CSBG network and national partners.
The bill also funds LIHEAP for FY 2019 at $3,640,304,000 - this is level funding with the amount provided in the FY 2018 Omnibus.

The House bill is scheduled to be marked up in subcommittee tomorrow at 9:30am. The proceedings can be viewed here. The Senate has not released its FY 2019 Labor HHS bill or scheduled a markup at this time.

NASCSP will keep you updated as the appropriations process continues.
