Senate Passes Continuing Resolution
Today the Senate passed a Continuing Resolution by an 82-15 vote, averting a shutdown and extending government funding through November 21st. The House passed the Continuing Resolution late last week. The measure now heads to President Trump's desk for signature. Government funding had been set to expire at the end of the fiscal year on September 30th. The Continuing Resolution ensures more time for negotiations between the House and Senate to finalize the FY 2020 spending bills that fund government agencies and programs.
