Re: Release of FY 2018 Funds
|
Date: May 21, 2018 |
Dear Colleagues:
The purpose of this message is to provide you with an update on allocations of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018.
As noted in prior correspondence, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 (H.R. 1625) was passed by Congress and signed by the President on March 23, 2018, which provided the final budget for FY 2018. In earlier correspondence, OCS noted that one percent of total funding for FY 2018 was potentially subject to reallocation based on the Secretary's authority to transfer funding within HHS's discretionary accounts. This authority has not been exercised for FY 2018.
These awards represent the final release of funding to date for FY 2018. A chart is attached to show the full-year CSBG allocations along with the total amount allocated and released during the first, second, and third quarters of FY 2018.
Thank you for your continued partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Administration for Children and Families. We look forward to continued work with you to strengthen the CSBG network and provide strong accountability and leadership to positively impact America's low-income families and communities.
Sincerely,
/s/
J. Janelle George
Acting Director
Office of Community Services
