The mission of the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and consumer energy costs by advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, and zero emission vehicles to benefit all Coloradans. CEO develops and implements programming to support that mission and achieve outcomes within Colorado’s energy sectors.
The Colorado Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), as part of CEO, empowers income qualified Coloradans save money, increase comfort, and better their homes and environment through proven energy conservation solutions. These solutions include LED light bulbs, high efficiency furnaces and refrigerators, building shell insulation, and rooftop solar arrays, among others. WAP operates in all 64 Colorado counties and serves Colorado’s diverse population of residents through its local service providers.
WAP is currently expanding its service impact with additional funding. Colorado WAP is roughly doubling in budget from $20M per year to $40+ million per year. This expansion means additional opportunities to pilot new program methods and technologies to increase WAP’s impact on the lives of the low-income Coloradans it serves. The expansion also means there will be scaling challenges, including a need to help local service providers address workforce and supply challenges, along with the opportunities to provide more and better services to Colorado.
CEO currently has an opportunity for a WAP Director to lead its team, set the vision for the program, and ensure successful implementation to help CEO fulfill its mission. The Director will manage three direct reports and a total team of ten staff initially, with plans for team growth this fiscal year. The WAP Director will support the CEO team as described in the duties and responsibilities below.
