Overview:
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy and security. Our diverse capabilities span a broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines, enabling the Laboratory to explore fundamental science challenges and to carry out the research needed to accelerate the delivery of solutions to the marketplace. We are seeking a professional to fill a Technical Research Professional position in the State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) team in the Integrated Building Deployment and Analysis (IBDA) group within the Buildings and Transportation Sciences Division (BTSD), Energy Science and Technology Directorate (ESTD) at ORNL. The team consists of researchers, technical professionals, and software developers focused on conducting research in world-class facilities and deploying science-based knowledge in real-world deployment applications. The work supports the U.S. DOE Weatherization Assistant Program and other customers by developing/supporting public-facing building energy analysis tools, evaluating efficacy of real-world installations of building retrofits for energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and improved occupant health and safety. This position requires working with external partners, corporations, and sponsors to develop and deploy solutions and technologies. Candidate selection will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and education.
