The Director of Affordable Rental Housing will provide overall management and direction to the Affordable Rental Housing division. This includes full authority over decision-making, direction setting, and public engagement for the division. It also includes, coordinating the development and implementation of service delivery, building, and fostering collaborative working relationships with multifamily development partners, commercial lenders, equity investors, property management firms, bond counsel, real estate attorneys, tax counsel, DOJ attorneys, the Governor’s office, legislators, national housing finance associations, public housing authorities, regional and local jurisdictions, and other key stakeholders. The person in this position will also be coordinating and guiding policy and program development, research, and analysis for the innovation and streamlining of business processes while managing financial risk to the department. It is the expectation of the agency and as a member of the OHCS Executive Team that the Director of Affordable Rental Housing represents the agency in various public venues (local, state, and national).
