The Community Action Association of Pennsylvania (CAAP) is a statewide membership organization representing 42 Community Action Agencies in the Commonwealth. CAAP acts as a statewide voice for local Community Action Agencies and low-income citizens. It is the primary source of advocacy, education, technical assistance, news, and networking for the Community Action Network of Pennsylvania.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall administration of Community Action Association of Pennsylvania (CAAP), maintaining relationships with funders and community partners, internal and external communications, hiring and supporting staff, and overseeing the development and coordination of CAAP programs and services. The CEO, in conjunction with Pennsylvania’s CAAs, assesses significant statewide barriers to ameliorating poverty, and recommends strategies, services, and resources to enhance the local CAAs capabilities and capacities to address poverty issues. The CEO works closely with the Board of Directors in developing and implementing CAAP’s strategic plan and regularly informs the Board about the organization’s progress.
