2021 Annual Training Conference Overview

The 2021 Annual Training Conference offers valuable opportunities for professionals from around the country to come together and discuss strategies for meeting new challenges in improved performance, innovation, and accountability in the fight to change the face of poverty across the nation. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and with respect to the health and safety of all involved, we are excited to present this conference as a virtual event. The theme for this year’s conference is Engaging Community, Embracing Diversity.

The 2021 Annual Training Conference is separated into the following two tracks:

The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) track focuses on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) CSBG initiatives. It also highlights best practices related to anti-poverty efforts, performance management, and performance measurement. Sessions include updates on emerging trends in fighting poverty, CSBG CARES, enacting change through policy and programming, and more.

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) track focuses on the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) WAP initiatives and grantee management issues. Sessions include updates and discussion of recent DOE WAP policy, program notices, guidance, workforce success stories, best practices in hiring, training, and retaining a WAP workforce, and more.
