Summary:

CHP Energy Solutions Research and Training is a 12,600-square-foot facility located in Christiansburg, VA (near Roanoke), which includes classrooms, computer labs, an HVAC lab, three diagnostic house labs, an air sealing and insulation lab, a pressure house, and an on-site mobile home. They also provide in-depth field training and mentoring, utilizing fully-equipped mobile training units. Since their inception in 1999, CHP Energy Solutions has trained over 30,000 students across the United States, Canada, and Argentina. Their training is complimented by their unique, proprietary House of Pressure, which has become such a popular training aid that they now manufacture it for universities, utilities, and training centers throughout the country. The House of Pressure visually demonstrates residential pressure and air flow dynamics so that weatherization and private contractors, alike, can more easily understand the benefits of home performance diagnostics and whole-house energy improvements. CHP Energy Solutions offers more than a dozen weatherization training courses for single-family, mobile home, and even complex multi-family buildings, in addition to training and proctoring the Home Energy Professional, BPI, and HERS certifications. They also offer 10 of their weatherization courses online in their customized learning management system (LMS).
